Initiation of flowering |
Use 1 to 2 L Embark 480 SL plus 20-40 kilograms Urea in 1,000 to 2,000 liters of water per hectare. Use higher rate during hard to force months (May to December) and high volume sprays in very large plants. Apply to pineapple plants of adequate size and maturity, generally 6 to 8 months prior to harvest. Apply when foliage is dry. |
Ripening |
Mix 1 ¼ to 2 ½ liters Embark 480 SL with 1,000 liters of water to obtain complete spray coverage of 1 hectare. Ensure thorough spray coverage of plants and fruits one or two weeks before anticipated harvest. Use high rate during cool and cloudy weather conditions. Do not harvest fruits at least one week after application of Embark 480 SL. |

Test maturity of berries first. Pick green berries at random from bottom branches of several trees. From this sample, count 100 berries and cut into halves. Mature berries have hard seeds whereas immature berries have soft seeds. Repeat test after 7 - 10 days, if less than 90 of the berries are mature. Apply Embark 480 SL if there are 90 or more mature berries. Apply 100-600 ml/1000 trees (depending altitude and on tree part with berries, shaded or unshaded). Most green berries are found in the lower 2/3 of the tree. So direct spray to this part. Harvest at optimum ripeness which generally occurs between 14-30 days after application. Do not apply Embark 480 SL on trees if under stress from drought or pest or if rain is expected within 4-6 hours. |
Banana, Mango and other fruits |
Ripening |
For use in uniform ripening of other fruits, apply as post-harvest spray or dip. Mix 5ml of Embark 480 SL with 1 liter of water and apply as overall spray to fruits or immerse fruits into the solution. Mature fruits respond better and faster to Embark 480 SL ripening. |
